How do I connect to the Salem State wireless network?
Use your university login and password to securely connect to the wireless network at Salem State. Wi-fi is available on campus to anyone with a Salem State login – this includes students, faculty, staff and, administrators.
The wireless network on campus uses features of a Network Access Control (NAC) system to help secure our network by ensuring that all laptops and mobile devices that connect to SalemState have anti-virus installed and running, and have up to date anti-virus definitions. The system installs a connection agent on your device at the time of your first connection to the network to verify the device has up to date anti-virus and anti-spyware software, and to perform authentication and other compliance measures before allowing network access. Devices that are not up to date will not have access to the “SalemState” network.
NOTE: Mobile devices, such as phones, tablets do not require the agent.
How do I configure a compatible device for Salem State?
As a golden rule, you need to configure your device only exactly once, as instructed for your particular device. From then on, you can use SalemState campus-wide without reconfiguring anything. Exactly how to configure your laptop or other handheld device for SalemState will depend on which device(s) you may have:
Connect your wireless to the SalemState network. Start a web browser and follow the steps for Bradford installation wizard.
- APPLE iOS devices
Connect your Apple iOS device to the SalemState network using your student ID and password. Start a web browser and enter http://salemstate.edu. The Wi-Fi network will require you to visit its login page therefore you will be redirected to the Bradford Installation setup. Continue with the instructions that appear on screen.
- ANDROID (Chromebook) devices
Connect your Android device to the SalemState network using your student ID and password. Start a web browser and enter http://salemstate.edu. The Wi-Fi network will require you to visit its login page therefore you will be redirected to the Bradford Installation setup. Continue with the instructions that appear on screen.
